We cherry pick the best planting projects to back, keep everything open and transparent, share the journey through film and invite you to be part of it all - whether that’s joining planting days or monitoring how things grow over time. And yep - you'd be right in thinking that as a form of climate action, this is pretty lovely.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I offset my carbon footprint by planting trees with CAPeople? We're keen to avoid the direct link between tree planting and offsetting your carbon footprint with CAPeople. Carbon offsetting is a complex space, where impact is often tipped towards the lower end of a sliding scale. If you're scooching around the CAPeople site, the chances are you already have more than a winking eye on your carbon footprint. That's enough. Funding nature restoration projects via CAPeople is about just that, funding biodiversity boosting, carbon sequestering, nature enhancing projects across the UK.
How will my money be spent? 80% of all funds collected by CAPeople goes straight to the planting projects that we fund. That means, if we are planting trees, 80% of your funds will go to the buying of the trees, stakes and guards needed to protect them. If we are planting sphagnum moss to protect peatland, 80% of your money will pay for the sphagnum moss plug plants. The final 20% goes to CAPeople's running costs.
Can I gift a subscription to CAPeople? Of course you can! Just find the link on the homepage, and follow the sign up instructions. You are able to cancel that subscription at any time.
What kind of projects do CAPeople fund? Picking our projects is a source of great joy for us. We work with partners around the UK to fund a range of projects including woodland & hedgerow creation, riparian planting, peat restoration and broader habitat regeneration. Each project is chosen for its ecological value as well as its character.
How do I get involved in the projects? As a member you will have access to your 'dashboard' which is found through a link in the menu bar at the top of the page. Here, you will find invitations to planting days, wildlife surveys and other project related events. These invitations will also be sent to you via our seasonal newsletter, and advertised through the @carbonaware instagram page. Keep an eye out on offers. We would love any member to be involved where they can.
What impact has Carbon Aware had so far? Over the past six years we have funded the planting of 65,000 trees across more than 30 planting projects in the UK. We have planted in Somerset, Bedfordshire, Liverpool, Devon & numerous locations across Scotland. Not all the trees will have survived, but around 75% - 90% will now be anchoring their roots, growing branches and leaves and doing their magical thing. Site visits to see past projects are encouraged. Get in touch for locations details. You will be staggered at how quickly woodland can grow!
