We’re based in the West Country, so events may be a little south west heavy for now. We’ll head further afield as the community grows. Some events will have extra voluntary costs depending on venues, specialist guides, etc.

Below gives you a flavour of what is on offer. We’ll post the actual invitations plus details on your Members Dashboard.

Somerset Dormouse Survey

This September 2026, we have 5 member spaces up for grabs for a spectacular morning of citizen ecology at Ham Hill Country Park in Somerset. Join us as we head into the woodland with expert surveyors to track one of Britain’s most elusive little mammals - the hazel dormouse.

Expect fresh air, beautiful countryside, conservation chat and the rare chance to get hands-on with a real ecological survey.

There are no guarantees around finding nesting mice, but if we do, tiny noses & curled tails could be the prize.

This offer is for subscribed MEMBERS ONLY: To Join simply start your membership by clicking here and then keep an eye on your Members Dashboard for news.

There is a charge of £50pp for this event.

Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Planting opportunity with Eadha in Scotland

Our wonderful planting partners at Eadha Enterprises are delighted to welcome CAPeople members to join them for a day of tree planting at Brodiclea Farm near Dalry in Scotland.

Taking place during this winter's planting season, this is a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors, support an environmental project and spend time with like-minded people. As you might expect, conditions are likely to be cold and muddy, so come prepared with suitable clothing and footwear.

Travel to and from the event will need to be arranged by members themselves, but if you're able to join us, you'll receive a warm welcome from the Eadha team.

No previous planting experience is needed. Guidance will be provided on the day, and you're encouraged to take part at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Date, timings and other useful info will be shared in due course via the Members Dashboard. We hope you'll be able to join us. 🌱

Somerset Conference of Trees

This gathering is for anyone interested in trees, forestry, ecology & natural building or who simply want to connect with the living world. Frankly, if you're reading this, it's probably for you.

Set amongst an apple orchard, woodland and flanked by cider barn, this in-person event brings together foresters, makers, land workers, thinkers and curious minds for a session of talks, workshops and big-picture conversations about forests, mycelium, nature connection, politics and regenerative ways of living and building.

Expect practical sessions with the experts, thoughtful discussions, and plenty of time immersed in the woods themselves.

If you’re anywhere near Somerset, this feels like one of those events worth jumping into.
