Weaving trees across farmland in the Peak District

“As the old adage goes, the best time to plant trees is 20 years ago, and the second best time is now.”

With thanks Robert Thornhill Great Longstone farmer

This is the opportunity to join the Peak District National Park Foundation and help farmers in the White Peak plant standalone trees and small copses on their grazed land, linking isolated woodlands and creating essential wildlife corridors that support biodiversity.

Trees like this are not funded by national planting schemes but are vital to help nature thrive - so support is invaluable.

In time the trees will provide shade and shelter for livestock and crops, enrich the soil & turn bare fields into hotspots for birds & bats.

The project has the added advantage of being in a spectacularly beautiful landscape where biodiversity passionate visitors are welcomed!

Planting 2,500 Trees in the Peak District National Park

The trees will be planted this Winter 2026/27.
